Help Carlson's Fight Against URAPUS

As we approach the Labor Day telethon season, it's important to focus attention on a rapidly growing and highly debilitating disease referred to as URAPUS, or Uncontrollable Republican Anxiety and Panic Urination Syndrome. Symptoms include an irrational fear of muslims and a desire to link every event involving foreigners to the global fight against islamofascistcommunism. Sufferers also may experience deep paranoia when unaffected people fail to share in their hysterical feelings of fear and anger.

The latest victim of URAPUS is none other than KVI host John Carlson, who spent thirty minutes of his August 30th show ruminating about the nonexistent terror ties to a mentally unstable San Francisco man who ran over 14 people with a SUV. Mr. Carlson's heart palpitations seemed to be triggered by an Associated Press article that only reported the known facts and refrained from speculating about the assailant's non-existent ties to islamofascistcommunism. In a response very typical of URAPUS, Carlson attributed the lack of non-factual reporting to the personal biases of the reporter:
So why is it that the Jewish Federation shooting here, and the San Francisco driver down there, the news media is deliberately looking for ways to play down the terrorism/muslim/anti-american angle and is instead zeroing in on his psychological state of mind, and whether he had a good job and decent relationship with women. This is a text-book example of liberal media bias, where if something does not reflect well on the liberal template they play it down, whereas if it does reinforce a liberal stereotype or judgement, they play it up.

Other symptoms exhibited by URAPUS sufferers includes an inability to make rational or logical analogies. For example, Mr. Carlson tried to highlight the Associated Press's bias by claiming a similarity between the San Francisco incident and the brutal 1998 slaying of a black man in Jasper Texas by two racist criminals. As the following quote illustrates, URAPUS can block key brain receptors and prevent the victim from telling the difference between two known racists killing a black man in a premeditated way, versus an unbalanced driver indiscriminately targeting random pedestrians:
Now the Klu Klux Klan did not send those two guys to kill James Byrd. Nevertheless, the media did not miss the obvious angle that racism was involved. It didn't leave out the obvious hatred that these guys had for blacks in general, whether it was directed at James Byrd because he was black or it was a contributing factor, it's almost irrelevant. But my point here to you is, yeah they were acting along, yeah these guys also had mental and emotional issues, and they were thugs, basically what you would call white trash, but the media did not try to play down the race angle. So why is it that the Jewish Federation shooting here, and the San Francisco driver down there, the news media is deliberately looking for ways to play down the terrorism/muslim/anti-american angle?

Similarly, in another instance URAPUS prevented Mr. Carlson from making the distinction between the actions of a gang of thugs and those of white policemen in a position of authority beating up on a black motorist:
You know, and another example of that, Rodney King footage on everyone's TV screen day after day year after year, after the Rodney King beating, the Fat Tuesday beatings where blacks were attacking whites, latinos, and asians, appeared for a couple of days when it occurred but then it disappeared and you never heard it again.

As the upcoming holiday approaches, please help fight the terrible onslaught of URAPUS. It is affecting more and more Republicans and our country can not survive 2 more years of deeply flawed decision making based solely on feelings of irrational fear. You can do your part by making a generous contribution to an organization leading the battle against URAPUS: Act Blue. Thank you for your support.
